Veco experts to speak on energy efficiency

Experts from the Visayan Electric Company (Veco) will speak in the first Techtalk session of the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) on Thursday, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the conference room of the Department of Science and Technology in Central Visayas (DOST-7) in sitio Sudlon, barangay Lahug, Cebu City.

Techtalk is a series of discussions on energy efficiency and cleaner production under the SME’s for Environment Accountability, Responsibility and Transparency (SMART)  Cebu project currently implemented by ECCP. The project aims to promote cleaner environment and crease competitiveness of Cebu’s lifestyle sector represented by Cebu Furniture Industries Foundation, Cebu Gifts Toys and Housewares and Cebu FAME Foundation.

The first of the series of sessions is dubbed “Electricity 101: Understanding the Electricity Bill.”

Topics include basic concepts on consumer services, components of electricity billing, efficient energy usage, energy saving tips, system enhancement and demand management.

FEATURED STORIES

Electricity 101 speakers are Veco Power Systems and Planning department head Louie Collera and Utility Economics supervisor Dennis Verallo.

The event is open to everyone interested in understanding the electricity bill and how energy savings would contribute to total profitability of business.

A minimal fee of P350 for ECCP member companies and P450 for non-member companies is charged to cover cost of the event. Snacks will be served.
