San Carlos Heights drubs CCCS to capture QBA cage crown
THE San Carlos Heights (SCH) of playing coach Charlie Reyes tripped CCCS, 79-73, over the weekend to rule the Quiot Basketball Association (QBA)-2012 Christmas basketball tournament.
The two protagonists fought closely in the first two periods with SCH taking a slim, 38-37 lead at the half. But CCCS went strong in the 3rd stanza and grabbed a, 62-60 advantage heading to the final quarter.
However, SCH outscored CCCS in the fourth, 19-10 anchored on former PBA standout Danny Aying and hot-shot Resty Getubig for the six-point victory.
Danny Aying and Argiel Magan led SCH with a game-high 21 and 15 points, respectively while Resty Geubig and Mike Reyes added 10 points apiece. Ronnie Ruiz and Boy Teroy paced the losing CCCS with 14 points each.
