South bus terminal set to be moved to SRP for Jan. 20 parade
THE South Bus Terminal will be temporarily relocated to a portion of the South Road Properties (SRP) near the Calungsod templete during the Sinulog grand parade on Jan. 20.
Rafael Yap, Cebu City Traffic Operations Management (Citom) chief, said the relocation will give public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers enough room to load and unload passengers.
Tents will be set up to serve as waiting areas for commuters while utilities and portalets will be installed for public use.
About 30 to 50 passenger jeepneys will be allowed to ply the SRP route.
These jeepneys will fetch commuters from the terminal to the Basilica located five kilometers from the Calungsod templete.
Drivers were advised to secure a special permit from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to allow them to service special trips during the Jan. 20 grand parade.
