At mid-Friday, the LPA was estimated at 240 km east of Hinatuan City, embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
The two weather systems were expected to bring moderate to heavy rains and thunderstorms in the Caraga region and the provinces of Samar and Leyte, possibly triggering flash floods and landslides, Pagasa said.
Forecaster Fernando Cada said the LPA appeared to be moving slightly northward, bringing rains over the Visayas.
In most parts of Luzon, the weather will be cloudy with sporadic rain showers as a result of the prevailing cold front and the less dominant northeast monsoon, which normally will blow the rain clouds southward, Cada said.
But he added that the weather in Metro Manila and most other parts of Luzon, except the eastern parts of Southern Luzon, would likely improve by Sunday.
Also on Friday, Pagasa issued a gale warning.
In a bulletin, it said strong to gale force wind is expected to affect the seaboards of Northern and Central Luzon and the eastern seaboard of Southern Luzon and Eastern Visayas.
