Court orders Aman founder arrested

MANILA, Philippines—A Pagadian City judged has ordered the arrest of Manuel Amalilio, founder of Aman Futures Group Philippines, the company implicated in what is considered to be the biggest Ponzi scheme in the country, Justice Secretary Leila De Lima said Friday.

Aside from Amalilio, Pagadian City Regional Trial Court Branch 20 Judge Dennis Bicoy also ordered the arrest of Aman incorporators Fernando Luna, Nimfa Luna, Lelian Lim Gan, Eduardo Lim, Wilanie Fuentes, Naezelle Rodriguez and Lurix Lopez.

They were charged for syndicated estafa after swindling people of their hard-earned money worth a total of P46,665,069.56.

The court also ordered the arrest of Dhurwen Wenceslao and Dona Coyme, who, along with the other accused, are facing a separate case of syndicated estafa for defrauding investors of some P43.241 million, Prosecutor General Claro Arellano said.

Syndicated estafa is a non-bailable offense.
