‘WOODY ALLEN’ FOUND DEAD

A NAMESAKE of an American actor was found dead inside a room of a pension house in barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City.

Police said the Caucasian-looking man introduced himself as Woody Allen when he checked in at the pension house last Jan. 5.

Investigators will coordinate with US authorities to find out if the man gave his real name since there were no identification cards found in the room, Senior Insp. Zenaido Pastorfide Jr., chief of the homicide section of the Lapu-Lapu City police, said.

Police said the man was supposed to check out yesterday after staying in the pension house for four days.

Staffers of the pension house went to the man’s room but the guest did not respond when they knocked on the door.

Alarmed, the pension house personnel called the police.

Police opened the door but it was double locked.

Police forcibly opened the door and found the foreigner suspended from the ceiling with a nylon rope tied around his neck.

Police said they suspect that the man was already dead since Wednesday.

Police said there were no signs of foul play./CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA
