Boom truck hits live wire, man hurt

A MAN was injured when a boom truck he was operating touched a live wire at the Gate 3 of Mactan Export Processing Zone (MEPZ) 1 in Lapu-Lapu City.

Jessie Sanchez, 29, of barangay Marigondon, Lapu-Lapu City, sustained burns in the body.

Edwin Cabahug, driver of the boom truck with plate number GTN-919, said the incident happened while they were transferring container vans to a yard.

Cabahug said they did not expect that the boom hoist of the truck would touch an electrical main line.

Passersby shouted at Sanchez when the boom was about to hit the mainline but the operator failed to hear the warning.
