MANILA, Philippines — This year’s elections will be deadly for most sitting politicians.
This is at least according to self-proclaimed psychic Danny Atienza, who has had several accurate predictions, including the parting of ways of President Benigno Aquino III and Korean TV personality Grace Lee in 2012.
In a news forum in San Juan City on Wednesday, Atienza said the elections would see the public voting more wisely.
In Manila, for example, he said there’s a “99 percent” chance former President Joseph Estrada would lose to incumbent Mayor Alfredo Lim.
Both are gunning for the top executive post in the city.
In the Senate, Atienza said “most” reelectionist legislators would lose to new personalities.
He did not name any names.
Contrary to what some people thought, though, the Liberal Party, he said, would not win government positions easily and would have to battle it out with its “strongest” rival to power, the United Nationalist Alliance.
Vice President Jejomar Binay, for example, he said, had strong chances of winning the presidency.
Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, however, would also have the same strong chances for the same position, he said.
“The problem with (Mar) Roxas, I hope he does it right,” he said.
He added a former president would die this year, while one senator would once again announce his separation from his wife.
On another note, he said by and large, it would be a good year, economically speaking, for the country.
He said a lot of money would be coming in, but the challenge would be making the benefits trickle down to the masses.
