MANILA, Philippines–At least four children have been reported missing in Manila when the procession of the Black Nazarene started early Wednesday morning, authorities said.
Gilbert Celestino of the local disaster office of Manila told INQUIRER.net that a five-year-old boy, a certain “Francis,” was reported missing at around 5 a.m. but found more than an hour after.
Six-year-old Justine Barios was also reported missing but found later by her family.
The third reported missing was an unidentified six-year-old boy, Celestino said.
Michael Bagttung also reported to the authorities that his 10-year-old son, Marcel, was also missing.
Michael said he lost his son while the procession was about to reach the Manila City Hall area.
Celestino said they also give assistance to 165 people– 5 were brought to Ospital ng Maynila, 28 were treated for trauma, 11 were given medical treatment and 125 were treated for blood pressure.
