5:30 p.m.- Alaska vs. B-Meg
7:45 p.m.- Talk N Text vs. Ginebra
The Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters shoot for a championship berth as they play the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings in today’s main game of the 36th PBA Governors’ Cup semifinal round at the Araneta Coliseum.
With an 8-3 (win-loss) card, the Texters need just one more win to earn a trip to the finals.
But this could not be an easy game for the Texters as they will be facing a Ginebra squad, which is also looking to increase its chances of advancing to the finals.
Ginebra is at solo second place with seven wins and four losses and beating the Texters will put them in a tie at the top spot. Talk ‘N Text and Ginebra are coming from huge victories.
The Texters rebounded from a blowout loss to the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters by trashing the B-Meg Derby Ace Llamados, 101-89, while the Kings edged out the Alaska Aces, 81-77, to redeem themselves from a disappointing 96-88 overtime loss to the Petron Blaze Boosters.
“We gathered ourselves together after the disappointing loss to Petron (Wednesday) and we found a way to get this crucial win,” said Ginebra coach Jong Uichico, whose wards wasted a 28-point third quarter lead in their loss to the Boosters.
In the first game, the Aces face the Llamados with both squads hoping to keep their finals bid alive.
