THE FRUITAS Shakers once again leaned on the scoring prowess of Carlo Lastimosa to hack out an 85-74 win over the Informatics Icons as the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup continued yesterday at the JCSGO gym.
Lastimosa, a stalwart of the College of St. Benilde and nephew of PBA legend Jojo Lastimosa, scored 23 points to lead the way but he had plenty of help in keeping the Icons the only winless team in the league with Nigerian big man Ola Adeogun grabbing 21 rebounds on top of scoring 11 points. Pong Escobal and Anjo Caram also had 11 each.
The win gave Fruitas a 4-3 (win-loss) record to keep its hopes for the playoffs alive. The Shakers pulled away in the fourth canto, where they unleashed a difference-making 9-2 run.
