MANILA, Philippines — Moderate to heavy rains and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides are forecast as a low pressure area hovered over Mindanao, the state weather bureau said Tuesday.
The LPA was last seen 340 kilometers southeast of Davao embedded along the intertropical convergence zone affecting Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
If it intensifies, it will be called “Bising,” the second cyclone to hit the country this year.
Meanwhile, the Bicol region and Eastern Visayas will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Cagayan Valley and the provinces of Aurora and Quezon will be cloudy with light rains.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy with brief rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast to north will prevail throughout the archipelago and the coastal waters will be moderate to rough, Pagasa said.
