Man robs, kills grandmother in Camotes

A 34-year-old man was accused of robbing and killing his grandmother in barangay Unidos, San Francisco in Camotes Island, Cebu.

Florencio Donaldo Julliesa allegedly admitted the crime to the police.

The suspect used a piece of wood in attacking Francisca Donaldo, 70.

Police said the old woman and the suspect had a drinking session in the victim’s house which lasted until dawn last Friday.

The woman and her grandson were already drunk when the suspect robbed the victim, Insp. George Tahadlangit, chief of the San Francisco police, said.

Police said the suspect took P2,000 cash from a cabinet then repeatedly struck the victim’s head with a piece of wood.

The suspect’s cousin reported the incident to barangay officials after finding the bloodied woman in her house.

The suspect was later arrested near his house.

The suspect’s mother told police that her son went home with blood stains in his clothes.

Charges of robbery with homicide will be filed against the suspect, police said.
