Ateneo de Cebu (AdC) won three of its four scheduled matches of the 15th Aboitiz Football Cup scheduled yesterday at the Aboitiz Sports Field in Subangdaku, Mandaue City.
Its boys 12 team inflicted an 18-0 annihilation of Hijas de Jesus while its players 8 team posted a 7-1 demolition of Consolacion FC.
In the boys 17, AdC A opened its campaign on a positive note by routing Blessed John, 10-0.
Its sister team—AdC B, however, bowed to Mandaue Technical Institute (MTI), 7-0.
The two remaining matches in the Players 10 were won by Warshockz and St. John Kenty.
Warshockz downed Bright Minds in Action Learning Village (BMALV), 7-1, while St. John Kenty foiled Hijas de Jesus’ plans of advancing to the win column with a 4-2 victory.
INTER-COMPANY/BPO SEMIFINALS
Meanwhile, Innodata, Erco, Unitech Pipe and Convergys-A eye finals seats when the semis of the Inter-company/BPO gets underway today.
Innodata will go up against Unitech Pipe while ERCO will face Convergys A.
Innodata advanced to the semifinal round via a penalty shootout victory over Leylam, while its opponent Unitech Pipe entered the final four by edging Accenture.
ERCO clinched its semifinal ticket by prevailing in a penalty shootout against NCR while Convergys A’s beat Timex BP.
Battle also continues in the Mens Open with five matches on hand. Crazy Horse goes up against Apas Mizkits, BRO Nationals faces Don Bosco United (DBU) FC-B, Cebu Queen City United (CQCU) FC plays against Avengers, Indiana versus Atletico Cebu and Samba goes up against University of San Jose Recoletos (USJR) Alumni.
