Cooperative Development Authority gains ISO 9001:2008 Certification
The Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Central Office and Manila Extension Office are now ISO 9001:2008 Certified. This was announced by its Chairman and CEO Emmanuel M. Santiaguel, Ph.D. after TUV-Rheinland Philippines, Inc., a third party ISO certifying body, has declared the Cooperative Development Authority’s Central Office and Manila Extension Office as ISO certified.
The scope of the certification is the cooperative registration process.
In simple ceremonies at the CDA Office in Cubao, Quezon City, Tuv Rheinland Philippines, Inc. awarded the certification to Dr. Santiaguel in recognition that its processes and procedures on the registration function of both offices are in compliance with ISO 9001:2008 standards for Quality Management System. Registration of cooperatives is the first function of the CDA to be certified. The other functions and CDA Extension Offices will also be certified in the coming months.
With the able assistance of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) and the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), the CDA’s effort to gain the certification is in line with the Government Quality Management Program (GQMP).
The CDA is the sole government agency regulating the more than 21,000 cooperatives nationwide.
“With the ISO Certification of CDA, we hope to provide even better quality of service to our clients and we remain steadfast in our commitment to Quality Policy,” Dr. Santiaguel said.
