Man goes on shooting spree in Cavite, at least 5 hurt
CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna–At least five people, three of whom were children, were hurt after a man ran amok and went on a shooting spree in Kawit, Cavite on Friday morning.
The police identified the man as a certain Ronald Bae, said Senior Superintendent Alexander Rafael, Cavite police director, by phone.
He said Bae started shooting bystanders with a .45-caliber gun in Barangay (village) Tabon 1 in Kawit at around 9:30 a.m. for no apparent reason.
The names and the condition of the victims were not immediately available but they were rushed to Kalayaan hospital, also in Kawit.
“We are still finding out if there were other victims brought to other hospitals,” Rafael said.
Responding policemen were able to subdue the man by shooting him. “They have now brought [Bae] to the hospital, as well,” said Rafael.
