Couple killed on New Year

/ 09:44 PM January 03, 2013

A lone gunman used the New Year revelry as cover in killing a couple in Bataan, wounding the victims’ 8-year-old grandson in the process, police said.

Robert Guinto and his wife, Elvie, died instantly after they were shot while the family was in the thick of celebrations in Mariveles town at 12:10 a.m. of January 1, said Superintendent Joel Tampis, town police chief.

A bullet hit their grandson, Kean Malik Adorable, in the right arm. Tampis said investigators were looking at a family feud or a land dispute as a possible motive in the killing that took place in the Guintos’ house in Barangay (village) Lucanin. Tonette Orejas, Inquirer Central Luzon
