MANILA, Philippines—The Department of Justice (DoJ) is ready to handle the cases being handled by the Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG), Justice Secretary Leila De Lima told reporters Wednesday.
(President Aquino’s mindset is that PCGG should probably go; if there’s residual work left for it to do, these should be turned over to a competent agency.). It it’s DoJ, we can assume it ,” De Lima said.
De Lima said they would see if there is a need to create a unit for it.
Earlier, PCGG chair Andres Bautista said he already recommended to the President the winding down of PCGG operations and transfer its work to the DoJ.
