Boy recovering from leukemia needs P20k for final health tests

Eurich Ellema

After four years of undergoing chemotherapy at the Philippine Children’s Medical Center due to acute lymphocytic leukemia, Eurich Ellema is looking forward to leading a normal life.

“My child now has a very strong chance of enjoying his childhood,” Eurich’s father, Rolando Ellema, a 24-hour security guard at a posh village in Metro Manila, told the Inquirer.

For this to happen, however, his 7-year-old son would have to undergo a bone marrow test, aside from a CT Scan and two-dimensional echocardiogram (2D-echo) on Friday.

Should he pass the tests, doctors would then give him a clean bill of health.

The combined expenses for the three laboratory tests would require Eurich’s family to spend P20,000, which for someone like Ellema who earns only P460 a day is quite difficult to raise.

His wife, Pearly, is unable to help him earn a living because she is taking care of their 1-year-old child.

Those who want to help the family can call Ellema at 0930-2401630. Deposits can be coursed through Rolando Ellema’s BDO account (account number 1560090292).
