Import Scottie Reynolds more than doubled his scoring average, leading the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters to a 101-89 win over the short-handed B-Meg Llamados last night in the 36th PBA Governors’ Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.

Averaging just 18 points, Reynolds erupted for 37 markers on an impressive 9-for-14 shooting from the three-point land.

Reynolds’ terrific three-point sniping allowed the Texters to rebounds from an 81-96 loss to the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters last Wednesday.

With the win, the Texters, who are gunning for a rare grand-slam feat, inched closer to reaching the finals with their eighth win in 11 games.

A ninth victory could put the Texters in a good position to earn a finals berth since the most wins that their closest pursuers, Barangay Ginebra Kings and Alaska Aces, could get are nine victories.

With Reynolds firing seven triples in the first half, the Texters brought a 51-37 lead into the final two quarters.

Reynolds then scored seven in a 13-6 rally as the Texters put the game away by coasting to a 97-80 lead with less than five minutes to play.
