Short of naming him as an honorary woman, the Kilusan ng mga Kababaihan tungo sa Kaunlaran (KKK) recently declared Alaminos City Mayor Hernani A. Braganza as an honorary member.
KKK, one of the country’s first and biggest women’s cooperative, honored the mayor during the celebration of the group’s first year anniversary for empowering the city’s women, particularly mothers, through various livelihood projects initiated by the city government.
“This is our humble way of thanking him for his programs and valuable assistance to the city’s women and for being an inspiration to all of us,” said Jean Marie Miranda, chair of the KKK, in a statement from the mayor’s office quoting her.
“He has long been one of us,” she said.
Miranda said with Braganza’s initiative, more KKK members are now gainfully engaged in small businesses.
She said she believes Braganza can replicate what he did for women in Alaminos in the whole of Pangasinan.
