THE “BATTLE OF KATIPUNAN” highlights the UAAP war today as the undefeated reigning champions, Ateneo Blue Eagles, take on their neigbors, the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons in the 74th UAAP basketball tournament over at the Araneta Coliseum.
The Blue Eagles tote a 4-0 (win-loss) mark and are coming off a 73-61 win over the University of the East Red Warriors. Former University of the Visayas stalwart Greg Slaughter scored 18 in that game and will once again be called upon to take on the much-improved Maroons, who boast of 6-foot-8 center Alinko Mbah.
The Maroons, which already boast of a win against two losses after going 0-14 last season, are aiming to bounce back from their loss to La Salle last weekend. Correspondent Jonas Panerio
