DGL dominates Bacolod autocross

The vaunted DGL Motorsports team reaffirmed its status as one of the best racing teams in the country as it emerged victorious in the 2nd leg of the Castrol Edge-Visayas Regional Autocross Championship Series last weekend at the old airport of Bacolod City.

The Cebu-based team dominated the rest of the competition as it logged the top two best overall times in the race to rule the leg.

Bagging the best time is DGL Motorsports’ chief tuner Mato Tan, who clocked 43.87 seconds in the expert category.

Back-to-back Philippine Autocross Championship Series Regional Driver of the Year, Cebu Driver of the Year and Kartzone Series Driver of the Year David G. Lim, meanwhile, dominated the Open-C class en route to clocking the second best time of the race at 43.90 seconds.

Showing that he was still a force to be reckoned with, DGL, the skipper of the multi-titled squad, beat Derek Arculli of Kartzone and Jong King of Team NCR by the skin of his teeth.

With the win, DGL padded his lead in the overall standings going into the 2nd leg for Cebu on Aug. 20. DGL also dominated 1st leg of the series held at the Gaisano Bowlingplex parking lot last June.

Veteran racer Arculli managed to bag the third best time of the race at 44.03 seconds.

DGL Motorsports is being supported by Federal Tyres, HKS Super Oil, Cebu MMF Glass and Aluminum, Rico’s Lechon and The Coriander.
