CEBU CITY—Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma urged the public to refrain from using firecrackers to welcome the New Year.
“We can enjoy without endangering the lives of other people,” Palma said in a press conference on Wednesday.
Palma agreed that using firecrackers in Christmas and New Year celebrations has been part of the Filipino culture.
