PNP seeks stronger information campaign for cops’ accomplishments vs negative news

MANILA, Philippines—The Philippine National Police (PNP) is planning to strengthen its “information arm” that would focus on highlighting their achievements, Director General Raul Bacalzo said over a 990AM interview Friday.

Bacalzo said their accomplishments were often overshadowed by the negative news against the PNP, with the latest involving a police officer’s expose of poll fraud in the 2004 elections, which he and his team helped carry out.

“We are fully cooperating and whatever records are needed by investigating offices, we will produce them,” said Bacalzo.

“We have been exerting our full cooperation in everything. Those who are still in active service are ready and those who are retired have been advised to report,” said Bacalzo those involved in graft and corruption .
