MANILA, Philippines—Maynilad Water Services Inc. has advised residents in Parañaque Valenzuela and some areas in Makati City and Obando in Bulacan to expect water interruptions next week when the concessionaire begins upgrade service on its pipe network in Parañaque and Valenzuela cities.
Maynilad said pipe work in Parañaque will run from 9 p.m. of August 1 to 9 a.m. of August 2 while the work in Valenzuela City will take place from 9 p.m. on August 3 until 12 noon of August 4
Maynilad said the upgrade, which is expected to improve water pressure in the west zone, will involve decommissioning an old 900-mm steel pipe along South Luzon Expressway in Parañaque City and the installation of new valves and a strainer and declogging a 750-mm pipe along Rincon, near Pelo 1 Subdivision in Valenzuela City.
Areas to be affected in Parañaque include Magallanes Village and Paseo de Magallanes in Makati City; as well as in West Service Road (from Maynilad’s Villamor pumping station to Marcelo Green Village), Brgys. Merville, Moonwalk,
185 (Maricaban & Villamor Area), and 201 (Kalayaan), Edison Avenue, Sta. Ana Drive, San Martin de Porres, Greenheights, Camella Homes (Greenheights), Craus Subdivision, Savio Homes, Remanville, Malacañang Village, Japan, Jamaica, barangays Sun Valley, Don Bosco, San Antonio (SAV 1, 3, 5, 8-11), and a portion of Barangay Marcelo (MGV), and Annex 37 in Parañaque City.
On the other hand, pipe network upgrade in Valenzuela City would affect barangays Malinta, Pasolo, Rincon, Mabolo, Poblacion, Palasan, Isla, Tagalag, Arkong Bato, Pariancillo Villa, Balangkas, Wawang Pulo, Polo, Dalandanan and Bisig in Valenzuela City, as well as the Obando Water District in Bulacan.
Maynilad advised customers in these areas to store enough water for the duration of the service improvement work.
