CEBU City south district Rep. Tomas Osmeña may be the family’s cook this Christmas, but political issues cannot seem to escape him as he touched on alleged missing Christmas lights.
“Margot, Miguel and I share the hope that our city will be brighter in our hearts even though the P10 million in Christmas lights are missing. Haha…
“Have a Merry Christmas. “Maybe I will just cook for the family,” ,” Osmeña said.
City Councilor Roberto Cabarrubias for his part was more sober, reminding one and all on the essence of Christmas in his social media posts.
“Let’s bear in our mind that Christmas is about sharing what we have.
“We should not count on how many things we have received but on what we can give to others based on what we have,” said Cabarrubias.
“Ang pasko mao nag panahon sa pagpanghatag dili sa pagdawat,” (Christmas is the season of giving, not receiving.) said Cabarrubias in his video message uploaded on Youtube and Facebook.
“That’s why, it’s very valuable for me to give not only money to our friends, families and those in who sick in hospitals. That’s the greatest gift to give to people,” he added.
He said Christmas will make him feel that he’s “saved through Christ.”
