2 killed, 1 hurt in Pasig after driving away market vendors
The Pasig City police are hunting down the gunman who killed two local government workers and wounded another shortly after they drove away some illegal vendors from the public market Friday night.
Senior Inspector Rodrigo De Dios, chief of the investigation unit, described the still unidentified male assailant to be 50 to 55 years old, at least 5’3″ in height, of medium build and with curly hair and fair complexion.
Armed with a 9-mm pistol, the man shot Rommel Caiga, Raymart Inada and Alma Lacy along Market Avenue in Barangay Palatiw around 11:30 p.m. Friday.
Caiga and Inada died on the spot. Lacy survived with a gunshot wound in her cheek and was treated at Pasig City General Hospital.
The three were members of the city government’s Batas Ciudad Enforcement Office. An investigation showed that they had just forced some illegal vendors to leave the Pasig public market when they were attacked. Nathaniel R. Melican
