‘Juaning’ leaves P1B in damages to roads and crops in Bicol—NDRRMC

MANILA, Philippines – Tropical Storm “Juaning”(international codename: Nock-ten) left over P1 billion in damages in the Bicol Region alone, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Friday.

In its latest situation report, the NDRRMC said that damage to infrastructure has reached P1.022 billion while damage to agriculture has reached P111 million in the provinces of Albay, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Catanduanes and Masbate.

The number of affected families has reached 158,144 or 790,601 persons from 531 villages, 12 cities in 16 provinces.

Juaning also destroyed 333 houses in the region, the NDRRMC said.
