THE NUMBER one spot in the team standings will be placed on the line in a crucial double-header today in the continuing action of the semifinal of the 36th PBA Governors’ Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.

The B-Meg Llamados play the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters in the first game, while the Barangay Ginebra Kings clash with the Alaska Aces in the main game.

A win by Alaska and Ginebra and a loss by Talk ‘N Text will result to a two-way tie at the top.

The Texters failed to fortify their hold of the lead when they got ambushed by the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, 81-96, last Wednesday.

Talk ‘N Text started the semis with a 103-85 dumping of the Aces but could not overcome a Rain or Shine squad which played without its suspended head coach Yeng Guiao.

Alaska rebounded from that loss by subduing the Petron Blaze Boosters, 88-81, last Sunday.

Ginebra is still reeling from an ugly loss last Wednesday, wasting a huge 28-point lead to yield an 88-96 overtime loss to the Boosters.

The Llamados are looking to keep their semis hopes alive as they are currently with the Painters at fifth and sixth spots at 5-5.

A victory will be crucial for Talk ‘N Text, Alaska and Ginebra since the top two teams after the semis will advance to the best-of-seven championship round.
