RCAF posts second straight win in UBCA

THE Romeo Faunillan-led RCAF team claimed its second straight win after routing Quiot Proper, 113-86, last Sunday to grab the early lead in the Upper Bayanihan Catholic Association (UBCA) 2012 Second Season UBCAMP basketball tournament at the Quiot Sports Complex.

RCAF led from start to finish for the easy win with Danrey Baclay and pointguard Evans Sevellejo firing 28 and 20 points, respectively while Eddie Roma and Arnel Abellanosa paced Quiot Proper with 31 and 19 markers.

Earlier, defending champion Grace Bostolits also led from start to finish to drub Ubcamp Magic, 120-105.

Three-point artist, Toly Petiluna scored a game-high 33 points all coming from beyond the arc to lead Grace Bostolits with solid contributions from Roy Abacajan and Nicole Llamedo who combined for 33 points. Tom Villaso and Jessie Rudinas paced Ubcamp Magic with 30 and 25 points, respectively.

FEATURED STORIES

In the other game, the Suran Team backed by Mariquit Aqua Ventures trounced winless ICC Pharmacy, 91-84.

The Pharmacists jumped to an early, 20-12 lead at the start, but Suran sizzled in the 2nd stanza and erased its eight-point first quarter deficit with a blistering 31-18 run then continued its onslaught in the succeeding quarters for the win.

Predan Selumbres and Robert Abasolo led Suran with 21 and 18 points, respectively, while Nhunon Cagakit and Barak Lasque paced ICC Pharmacy with 22 and 15 markers, respectively.
