Damages caused by ‘Pablo’ reaches P24B–NDRRMC

MANILA, Philippines — Damages from the onslaught of typhoon Pablo (international name Bopha) is now at P24 billion, P16 billion from agriculture, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said
Tuesday.

Deaths from the strongest storm to hit the country this year also continued to rise as it reached past the 1,000-mark.

As of posting time, 1,046 were recorded dead, with 841
still missing.

Tropical storm Sendong (international name Washi), the strongest storm to hit the country in 2011, had 1,200 deaths.

Meanwhile, nearly 1 million persons are still being served inside and outside evacuation centers in 34 provinces affected by Pablo.

The local government also continued to provide stress debriefing sessions to survivors in Compostela Valley, one of the hardest hit areas.
