Husband catches wife peforming abortion

A 33-year-old husband reported to the police that he allegedly caught his wife performing abortion in their house in Lapu-Lapu City.

The man requested not to be named due to the sensitivity of the issue.

The couple has two children.

The husband works in a hardware store while the wife is a worker in a massage parlor in Lapu-Lapu.

The husband said that the man allegedly impregnated her wife which may have driven her to abort the child.

The alleged abortion happened last Dec 10.

The man said when he arrived home past 11 p.m., he noticed that his wife locked herself up in their room.

She asked his wife to open the door but he was ignored.

The man said he peeped through a hole and saw his wife drink something and repeatedly press her abdomen.

The man said he became worried and climbed the wall of the room to enter it.

The man said he saw his wife hide a bed pan.

The man said he was shocked to see a fetus in the bed pan.

The man said he asked his wife what she had done but the woman kept silent.

The woman was brought to a hospital for treatment.

Chief Insp. Zenaido Pastorfide, chief of the homicide section of the Lapu-Lapu City police, said they advised the man to present a medical certificate to prove that what he saw was a fetus.

Pastorfide said the man was no longer interested to take legal action against his wife when they contacted him.
