Fire hits NLRC office in Cebu City but quickly put out

CEBU CITY, Philippines—A blaze hit hit the office of the National Labor Relations Commission-Central Visayas along Osmeña Boulevard in Cebu City on Thursday night.

Firefighters from the Cebu City Fire Department and the fire substation in Barangay Guadalupe went to the NLRC-7 office after receiving the fire alarm at 8:02 p.m.

The fire started at the section where the files were stored.

FO2 Rey Gonzaga said sparks from the ceiling fan fell to the pile of documents, creating a small fire. But the fire was put out at 8:15 p.m.

The NLRC-7 had yet to determine if there were important documents that were destroyed during the brief fire.
