Liloan, Talisay still unbeaten

LILOAN AND TALISAY remained unscathed in their quest for the overall title as they registered contrasting wins in the quarterfinal round of the 2012 Governor Gwen Garcia Unity Volleyball Cup Thursday night at the Mandaue City Central High School.

While Talisay wrapped up its fifth win in as many games without even breaking a sweat courtesy of the no-show Moalboal squad, Liloan was made to bleed for its fifth straight win by eking past the hard-fighting Sta. Fe in a three-set thriller, 25-18, 17-25, 25-17.

The two teams now share the lead in group A with identical 5-0 (win-loss) records.

In the group B, Catmon seized the momentary lead over the defending champion Mandaue City as it claimed its fifth consecutive win with a 25-18, 25-11 victory over Minglanilla.
