THE Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) is among the five police offices in the country being eyed to become the pilot area for the implementation of the Performance Governance System (PGS) of the Philippine National Police (PNP.
The PGS is a program that would measure the performance of local governments. The, program was initiated by the late Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jessie Robredo in 2004.
It helped the PNP in changing its procurement service by optimizing and maximizing utilization of resources.
The CPPO presented its PGS and was reviewed by Camp Crame officials for an evaluation in a seminar at Cebu International Convention Center held last Dec. 10-12.
The seminar was attended by CPPO personnel, directorial staff of the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas.
Comendador said the CPPO was evaluated based on its operations and how it processed its targets and objectives on the PGS or the PNP Patrol Plan 2030.
Comendador said despite the lack of resources, the CPPO did well in maximizing its efforts and operations by using more innovative strategies.
