MCWD gives free water to Calungsod devotees
THE Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) joined the nation in celebrating the canonization of Cebuano saint, San Pedro Calungsod.
During the National Thanksgiving Mass at the South Road Properties on Nov. 30, MCWD employee volunteers manned seven water stations in strategic areas to give free potable water to devotees.
Over one million devotees gathered at the SRP as early as 11 a.m. until the mass ended at past 7 p.m.
The water stations were put up in front of the Compania Maritima building, at the SRP exit near the newly-opened Senior Citizen’s Park, on Legaspi St. in front of Sunburst Fried Chicken, two stations on M.J Cuenco near Plaza Independencia, at the Laray access of SRP and at the Mambaling entrance to SRP.
MCWD also provided free water for pilgrims who visited the Cebu City Government Center near the Compania Maritima building.
The pilgrim center was set up for visitors who came to Cebu City for the National Thanksgiving Mass but cannot afford to get a hotel room.
