Woman loses P300K, valuables to holdup men in front of home

MANILA, Philippines–A woman lost over P300,000 worth of cash and valuables to thieves who robbed her at gunpoint outside her house in Caloocan City.

The victim, office secretary Hanna Ruby Fernando, told the Caloocan Police that she, together with her driver and helper, were near their house in Macabagdal Street, Barangay 88, Grace Park, Caloocan City, when the robbery happened about 4 a.m. on Sunday.

As Fernando was about to open her house’s gate, two motorcycles, with two riders each on board, approached her.

The four then drew out their pistols and told Fernando to surrender her valuables to them. The robbers then took her shoulder bag before driving away.

Fernando told the police that her handbag contained assorted credit cards, a bank passbook, ID cards, one Samsung cell phone worth about P19,000, and cash money amounting to P300,000.

The police have yet to identify suspects in the incident.
