One of two motorcycle riders shot dead on Saturday evening a 66-year-old man near his home in Quezon City.
Benjamin Gabriel, a resident of San Roque Street in Barangay (village) Bagumbayan, was declared dead on arrival by attending doctors at Quirino Memorial Medical Center after he was shot in the temple at close range by one of the two gunmen who fled after the attack.
Police Officer 2 Rhic Pittong of the Quezon City Police District Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (QCPD-CIDU) said the shooting happened around 7 p.m. on Saturday near an Internet shop near the old man’s house.
According to the case investigator, Gabriel was waiting for his nephew outside the Internet shop when he was approached by two men on a motorcycle.
One of the riders got off the vehicle and shot the sexagenarian in the head with a cal. .45 pistol. He then fled with his cohort.
The police said that they were still trying to determine the motive for the shooting.
