32 arrested in anti-illegal gambling raid

POLICE arrested 32 people who were allegedly working for a suspected big-time illegal gambling financier whose house was raided in barangay Pasil, Cebu City.

The subject of the raid, Randy Buli-buli, managed to escape by scaling the roof of his house then jumped to his neighbors’ houses.

Buli-Buli was allegedly involved in illegal numbers game such as masiao and swertres.

A search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Douglas Marigomen of Branch 5 was used in yesterday’s raid conducted by operatives the Regional Special Operations Group.

A 6×6 military truck brought the arrested persons to the Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) headquarter where they were detained.

Seized during the raid were 21 fax machines, several tally sheets, 26 calculators, seven staplers, assorted ball pens, a stamp pad, a rubber stamp, two pair of scissors, three rolls of thermal paper, and six writing pads.

Police said no bet money was recovered since coordinators allegedly sent their proceeds through a money- transfer service./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
