FATALLY STABBED

A 34-YEAR-OLD pedicab driver was fatally stabbed by a drunk man in barangay Poblacion, Compostela town, north Cebu.

Police said Joseph Rolly Castro Sanchez was sleeping in his pedicab when he was allegedly stabbed by Rony Lowatlati Alegria, 34, past midnight yesterday.

DANAO ROBBERY

THREE collectors of a water refilling station reported to the police that they were robbed at gunpoint in barangay Tuburan Sur, Danao City, north Cebu.

Dennis Guardiario, Rolando Rasonable, and Richard Colinares said at least P40,000 cash was taken by two motorcycle-riding men.

Police said the three workers were doing a round of collections from portable water vending machines when two men on a motorcycle blocked them.

The three men said the backrider pointed a gun at them, took their bag containing the cash and fled./Correspondent Joy Cherry S. Quito

FOUND DEAD

A 29-YEAR-OLD old woman was found by her husband hanging by the neck in their house in barangay Ibo, Lapu-Lapu City on Tuesday dawn.

Cecilia Mahilum was rushed by her husband to the hospital to no avail.

The woman’s husband, Julito, told police that he and his wife didn’t have a fight. He said Cecilia had been suffering from insomnia which may have drove her to commit suicide.

Julito told police that he and his wife had a dinner past 7 p.m. Monday before he left for work.

The husband said he went home a few hours later and saw his wife suspended from the ceiling with a belt tied around her neck.

Police said there were no signs of foul play in the woman’s death.

In a separate incident, a 50-year-old man was found hanging dead in his home in barangay Labangon, Cebu city.

Police identified the fatality as Albert Abatayo, a native of Carcar City.

The man’s live-in partner, Rosemarie Amparado, told police she arrived home past 10 p.m. yesterday and saw the man hanging with a rope lopped around his neck.
