USC-ChE Society to sponsor screening of indie film
THE University of San Carlos Chemical Engineering Society (USC ChES) will sponsor a special screening of an independent film, “Patikul” on Dec. 7 and 8 at the USC Main and Talamban campuses.
The film, written by Kristoffer Brugada and directed by Joel Lamangan, highlights relevant social issues related to human rights and also focuses on the importance of a teacher’s role to educate the children, especially in Mindanao.
This is the first time the film will be shown in Cebu and the producer decided to show the film at USC due to the successful showing of two other independent films, “Dukot (Desaparecidos)” and “Deadline (The Reign of Impunity)” at USC.
Viewers will be charged a minimal fee of P120 to cover the overhead expenses and producer’s royalties. Proceeds will fund the organization’s community extension services.
There will be three shows on Dec. 7 at the USC main campus: 1-3 p.m., 3-5 p.m. and 5-7 p.m.
On Dec. 8, five shows will be held at the College of Architecture and Fine Arts, USC Talamban campus at 8-10 a.m., 10-12 noon, 12-2 p.m., 2-4 p.m. and 4-6 p.m.
