MANILA, Philippines—Two minor quakes hit Luzon and Visayas early Thursday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
The first quake, measuring 3.1 magnitude, hit 90 kilometers southeast of San Jose de Buenavista, Antique at 3:24 am.
The second quake was at 9:18 am and its epicenter was located 70 kilometers southeast of Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro. It was measured at magnitude 2.6.
Both quakes were of tectonic origin, Phivolcs said.
No other intensities were recorded and no damages were reported. No aftershocks are likewise expected from both tremors, Phivolcs said.
