1 killed, 2 hurt in U Belt shooting
A new case of violence was reported in Manila’s university belt area Tuesday night when a student was killed and two others were injured after a group fired at them while they were standing in front of the Far Eastern University gate in Sampaloc district.
Police declined to release the names of the victims pending notification of their families.
Based on initial reports, the armed suspects approached the victims—all of them male students-—who were standing along the road and fired at them.
The suspects immediately fled from the scene.
Police said they are still gathering statements from witnesses on how many were involved in the shooting incident.
No motive could be established yet, police said.
