Typhoon ‘‘Pablo’’ forced the cancellation of 44 flights of both Philippine Airlines and Airphil Express with affected passengers accommodated on either replacement or upgraded flights.
PAL was unable to operate four flights to Davao and two to Tagbilaran, while AirPhil Express cancelled 38 domestic and one international flights.
As soon as the weather conditions allowed, AirPhil Express mounted a replacement flight on its Busuanga route while PAL used the bigger Airbus A340 airplane, instead of the A320, on one of its Davao flights to accommodate displaced passengers. Replacement and upgraded flights are also being set up to Tagbilaran on Wednesday, Dec. 5.
From Manila, AirPhil Express cancelled flights bound for Caticlan Cagayan de Oro Dumaguete, Ozamiz, Butuan, Cotabato, Dipolog and Surigao.
Flights cancelled out of Cebu are those bound for Bacolod, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, General Santos, Iloilo, Kalibo, Legazpi, Ozamiz, Pagadian, Puerto Princesa, Surigao, Tacloban and Zamboanga.
Also cancelled are the Caticlan-Cebu and Cebu-Hong Kong flights.
Affected passengers of PAL and AirPhil Express may call the airline’s respective Reservations for rebooking assistance – 855-8888 for PAL, 855-9000 for AirPhil Express.
