This is not the first time Fr. Gregory Ramos has been featured in the Inquirer.
The graduate of the Philippine Military Academy Class 1981 first landed in the news when, after completing the mandatory combat assignment in Mindanao, he entered the seminary and became a priest.
In October, Father “Somar” (the reverse of his family name, a nickname given to him by his PMA ‘mistah,’] was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. It is a cancer of the blood that attacks the bone marrow.
Upon the advice of his doctors, he underwent chemotherapy. He has already completed six rounds although he needs to undergo five more.
“He is now fighting a different kind of battle— emotional, physical, clinical/pharmacological, social, spiritual and most especially financial—and I thought that he would be able to get financial help from Inquirer readers,” says Ramos’ friend, Ma. Teresita “Bibbet” Palo.
