/ 08:20 AM December 03, 2012

A 27-year-old man was stabbed dead by his friend during a fistfight at the North Bus Terminal in barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

Nestor Gella Jr. suffered multiple stab wounds in the body. He died a few hours after he was brought to the Cebu City Medical Center.

The suspect was identified as Dickson Emboy, a caretaker of a billiard station at the terminal.

Emboy was attending to the billiard station at 8 p.m. last Saturday when Gella arrived and slapped the caretaker in the head, police said.

Police said they learned it wasn’t the first time that Gella hit Emboy when ever the suspect goes to the billiard.

But in the previous incidents, Emboy kept his cool.

In the latest incident, Emboy fought back resulting in a fistfight.

Police said Emboy picked up a kitchen knife from a box and repeatedly stabbed Gella.

Emboy surrendered to the terminal’s security guard who then turned him over to the Subangdaku police station.

A murder charge will be filed against the suspect, police said.
