A total of 7,762 people responded to the poll question: “Do you think children above 15 years but below 18 years of age should be exempt from criminal liability?’’ which ran for almost three weeks and which closed afternoon of Friday, Nov. 30, 2012.
Of the total figure, 7,131 or 91.87 percent, answered “No’’ to the poll question, while 631, or 8.13 percent, said “Yes’’. (See screen grab of poll results)
The poll question was posted in line with moves made by some legislators to amend the Juvenile Delinquency Act to add teens 15 years and above from those who may be held liable for criminal offenses.
