USC offers milo national stint to fallen teammate

AN EMOTIONAL University of San Carlos side will be gunning for the national title in the Small Basketeers of the Philippines (SBP) class as they compete in the national finals of the Milo-backed BEST Twin Tournament tomorrow in Roxas City.

USC will be dedicating its participation in this annual tournament to a fallen comrade, JV Cenabre, who passed away earlier this week after losing his bout with leukemia.

Carrying the banner of USC will be Neon Chavez, Carl Jovellanos, ZJ Enriquez and Clint Octaviano.

USC will be up against some very stiff competition in powerhouse La Salle Greenhills, Ateneo de Davao and Don Bosco Pampanga.

The University of the Visayas is also ready to go to battle for the Passerelle title as it takes on the best of the best Under-15 teams from the rest of the country.

UV is looking to keep the dominance of Cebu going after the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles won the national title in 2010 and 2011. USC meanwhile, hopes to break the long title drought of Cebu in the SBP, which dates back to the mid-2000. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
