As of June this year, more than 1,000 motorists had been apprehended for violating the motorcycle lane on Edsa since its implementation in February, according to the latest Metropolitan Manila Development Authority accomplishment report. According to the same report, the implementation of the motorcycle lane resulted in a reduction in the number of motorcycle-related injury cases in the area, from 104 cases from October 2011 to February 2012, to 84 cases from February to May 2012.
